If this is true, it’s beyond sad.
I was in hs 20 years ago and I was class president. I was 5’5 at the time too.
I joined every sport, picked up my weight and contributed to optimizing school programs with student council.
Just being someone who is enjoyable to be around, high energy and not overly serious was enough for you to be well liked and popular then.
The people on drugs were the ones who had awful home lives and were just falling apart before their lives begun. We all felt sorry for them, genuinely.
