A lolcow is typically a male that is being played by a woman who shows signs of romantic or sexual attraction when in reality they have none of it. This is usually done for the goal of obtaining attention or a clueless male that chases them.
If you're in a situation where someone comes around consistently telling you that you're cute or she wants to fuck - but later talks about you paying for her shit or hinting thru actions that you're supposed to give her stuff like money, info, attention, whatever - you're actively being lolcowed.
Why women lolcow men
There is a massive portion of the female population that are really good at manipulation. Lolcowing counts as manipulation aswell. About 80% of all women have, atleast once or regularly, manipulated a man for the goal of getting a good return.
Women only lolcow men because they want a return. For example: if a woman has a little sister and a man the woman wants to discover info about (in a bad way) - she can send her little bitch of a sister to give compliments and attention to the man - maybe even seduce him - so that she can pull info and report back. Once he's all discovered, he's dropped.
In this scenario, the man thought he actually had a chance. He thought that by giving her what she wants he can actually get a relationship. Horrible. But did you notice something?

A man who is in any form of relationship or simply doesn't care about her attempts is completely immune to her attempts. End of story. If he's in a relationship, he won't care. The puppet master (lolcower) pulls back because she feels rejected.
There's one exception, however. If the puppeteer has good features and mogs his current woman - he may still get pulled in and be left without either the puppeteer or his girl. Brutal. Don't be stupid, kids.
How to stop being a lolcow
Simple. If you even slightly suspect you're being lolcowed - drop the connection immediately. Even if you think there's any "genuine" possibility you can get a relationship - hit yourself and wake up. You're being played by a woman whose goal is not a relationship with you. Stop, block and forget. Do it even if you think it'll bring consequences in your social circle.
