Dude in that movie is legit leanmaxxed psychopath with not much else, but he keeps searching for new opportunities,
taking action and therefore discovers Nightcrawling. In the end he benefits from financial crisis he's in and becomes one of those psychopath entrepreneurs.
If he was at home watching Breaking Bad all day, he wouldn't be shit and movie would end in 7 minutes.
Yes Looks, Money and Status is very important, but you've also got to take action / calculated risks.
I would rank main things like this:
- looks
- money
- status
- action taking / calculated risks
- focus on right things (unsubscribe from shitty political copers / ragebait, read good books, listen to podcasts, get good hobbies - clear mental space instead instead of political coping, whether far-right, far-left, liberal, libertarian... You're trading mental health and time for what... literally worse than sports fanaticism since at least that can be conversation opener / topics, so it's not total waste.)
- ability to talk (yapping with anyone about anything is a learnable skill, along with not interrupting people mid sentence, active listening and noticing IOIs)
Mr Goldberg has pretty funny video on people who interrupt and have no social skills, came to mind:
