Yes, the transplanted hair stays, but MBP still advances and you'll still experience hair loss on non transplanted areas. Imagine if you transplanted hair on your temples and Norwood advanced, you'd literally have 2 hairy spots on the front with nothing around.

You won't even be able to fix it since you can run out of donor area at some point. Thus why it's better to jump on Fin after HT.
