I have one mate from school that I can talk to about ideas
No surprise he's the one I still keep in regular contact with while the rest all drifted away
When I meet with other guys from school almost the entire convo is gossip about what people from school who I haven't seen in 9 years are now doing with their lives.
I genuinely couldn't give less of a fuck. When I talk about a side hussle I'm running because it organically comes up in convo it's a weird vibe because if I tell them a metric that they consider successful they'll change the conversation because it's like they don't want to hear about me succeeding at doing my own thing. If I tell them a metric which they consider makes it unsuccessful they'll be smug and it will feel like they think they're superior because I'm wasting my time on it and not having success and they out earn my by wageslaving

When I meet with that one guy I'm able to share ideas with I occasionally go on a 2 hour talk about ideas because I've been keeping it inside for so long. He's the one person genuinely happy to see his friend succeed

Notice there are no movies with strong, masculine, stoic or otherwise heroic men anymore.

And with no father (like me), soyboy father or shitty father men have nowhere to see a positive role model to emulate.

Let's take star trek as an example because it was created before the parents of most people here. In 1960 the men there strong, professional, intelligent and stoic. When looking at a star trek movie from 2010+ everybody is screaming, nobody has emotional control, most everyone acts selfish and yet they're portrayed as heroes.

Obviously, there are probably a thousand factors that influence this but since our brains have developed to emulate what we observe I feel as if this has a big effect. If masculine virtues there worshipped the same in media as diversity is I think you'd have a different experience.

In school they were fearless, liked to talk a lot about the jbs and played a lot of sports, just like normal men are suppoused to be.
