Good question, I was hoping someone would ask, thanks for asking.

Basically, you need to be the center of attention and “force” the students to pay attention. They must obey your commands, they are not allowed to speak during instructions. Also, you need to correct their behavior constantly. Students getting out of their seats, students interrupting the teacher who’s in the middle of instructing. You’re also supposed to give out penalties, by sending students outside of the classroom if they’re being a constant nuisance.

And I’m like… Do whatever you want. I don’t care if you pay attention or not.

But that is not a good thing, you’re supposed to be strict. Kind of like a cop, where you are the dominant authority figure. I’m not a dominant authority figure, I’m too unconcerned. And you need to exhibit these traits during the program; traits I do not possess.

So, long story short… I’m not cut out for teaching. It’s not my personality.

Ahhh, that’s another demographic that I was dealing with. I was doing an internship that involved 7th grade students. I think the experience would vary greatly depending on the grade.

Are you doing it right now? Damn, that’s crazy. If you’re in the States, it can be a high-paying job (in California and New York), or a low-paying job (in Mississippi). You should try making them work more independently so that you can save your voice.

No, I don’t believe anyone really went to the principle, they were just trying to mess with the guy. He never subbed for that school again while I was there, I mean the kids were really bad. The next year I saw him at another school, which was even worse than the previous one, but they were not as bad in terms of bullying. He was a chill guy too. I remember once I was smoking and while he was calling for attendance, my friend raised his hand with the pen in his hand, he saw and didn’t mind he said as long as we did our work. My friend was being a jerk though, he would stand up and do a trick with the smoke every time he hit it. He was kind of forcing the guy to say something.

We are definitely being protected from the ugliness that is called zina. It’s not a bad situation to be in, really. But I understand you might feel bad about it since we live in a looks-focused society. If you keep the fact in mind that everyone will become ugly one day, then maybe you might feel better.
