I have a big forwards square chin and I didn't mew growing up, the most mewing could possibly do is keep your mandibular/gonial angle from dropping down, I really don't think that not mewing would cut off HGH production. But mewing also takes my jaw definition from already above average to razor sharp so I make sure to do it whenever I'm in public.
