I don’t get why there was the idea that gymaxing can make final height shorter if done during teens.

If lifting increases androgen sensitivity and can increase testosterone then it would make you taller so where did the myth come from?

people thought heavy lifting impacted growth plates because they believed it injured them. doctors also told people to not lift because of injuries but parents exaggerated that and said it would make them shorter

your body is using its resources to focus on muscle building rather than your skeleton
the increase in testosterone is a stress response and its very temporary
