I’m gonna say it because apparently nobody here wants to:
gymmaxxing is massively overrated.
Not “slightly overrated”. I mean it’s probably one of the biggest cope mechanisms in the entire looksmaxxing community.
You have a 5/10 dude with a mediocre face and the solution is always:
“hit the gym bro”
“build your neck”
“get bigger delts”
“get to 10% BF”
As if adding 15kg of muscle is going to install a new maxilla.
Your clavicles aren’t going to fix your eye area.
Your traps aren’t going to give you better zygos.
A 140kg bench isn’t going to give you forward growth.
At some point you have to admit that your face is your face.
Obviously physique matters. I’m not denying that.
A good physique can make you look more masculine, improve your silhouette, make clothes sit better and give you a huge halo effect.
But that’s exactly the point.
People keep calling that facial ascension when it’s actually just overall attractiveness increasing.
A guy can go from looking like a skinny NPC to looking like a masculine dude with a great physique and suddenly everyone says his face “improved”.
No.
And the leanmaxxing obsession is even worse.
Getting rid of excess facial fat? Huge W.
Going from 18–20% to a genuinely lean condition can reveal your jaw and cheekbones.
But some of you are acting like every male face gets exponentially better the lower your BF goes.
At a certain point you aren’t uncovering your bone structure anymore.
You’re just making yourself look fucking gaunt.
And the funniest cope is still:
“Bro just give it time, once you build your frame you’ll ascend.”
No you wont nga.
You just have an average face and an above-average physique.
Not every guy is secretly a future Chad who’s being suppressed by lack of muscle.
If gymmaxxing could genuinely compensate for mediocre craniofacial genetics to the extent people claim, every bodybuilder would be a PSL god
You can find skinny dudes with insane faces who would mog them in a facial comparison without even trying.
That’s why I think gymmaxxing is better described as halo-maxxing.
It makes the person more attractive as a whole.
Cope harder if you disagree.
