H1B fees kicks off a wave of offshoring jobs

Trust me u are. Do u even know what a h1b is? Yes its 120k, but the jobs literally PAY more than that, and the contracts are less strict normally. Is china outsourcing indians? No? Maybe to u, a person who is from a third world shithole, 120k for an IT job at a big firm sounds like heaven, and even if the contract has some questionable shit on it, its atleast better than been in india.

If they werent undercutting wages, there wouldnt be outrage bro trust me. Niggas arent just mad at u guys for no reason. Do u think japanese or korean migrants get the same shit as indians? Nope.

There should be basically 0 migration, from the third world, unless they are already ultra-wealthy and have their own assets. And if they move to western europe or America they should seek out for the interest of America, and Americans and identify as American. If not they can fuck off.

JFL YEAH Bro, critical infastructure requires indians. Im sure the critical infastructure in Alaska is on deaths doorstep because theres no curries there. Japans infastructure is on the edge of collapsing too :lul::lul::lul: its not like they have had some of the fastest internet and network infastructure in the world despite having like no migrants.

Fuck me dude. This is my point. U think ur needed, or entitled. Ur not needed or entitled, ur ancestors didnt build fuck all in America, ur not even from a similiar wealth bracket as the americans at all, u share fucking nothing in common. So if ur told to go back home, u should understand and go back home.

America is a country it isnt an idea or just a massive free market , it has people, it has ideas. BTW I am against all forms of migration globally even the white people gentirfying bali or moving abroad. This is all because of global greed. Disgusting places like dubai that are tax havens etc.

Its just all globalist greed and the impacts of globalism. As an individual sure, move to bali, move to the US if ur a curry, but dont throw a fit or act like ur needed or wanted by anyone in the USA. Please

Firstly I don’t need to work. I work because I want to I choose to do it because tech is one of my passions I could retire today and live comfortably. I’m in this field because I enjoy building things and solving problems not because I’m running away from anything. So the “third-world desperation” narrative doesn’t really apply here. I even made a thread about it here.

Now, regarding H-1Bs.These visas legally cannot pay below the prevailing wage for that role and region. That’s not my opinion it is written in stone U.S. federal law. Employers have to file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor before hiring an H-1B. If they underpay they’re breaking federal regulations. So the “undercutting wages” myth doesn’t hold up. I even made a thread about a recent twitter leak on Amazon salaries. What is true is that H1Bs visa are tied to their employment so they are generally more loyal and less likely to job hop unlike americans but not lower wages. Maybe lower Cost to the company overall

Most of these roles literally go unfilled for months before anyone is hired because the skill sets are that specialized.

And yes, $120K is the average base salary not the cap. I was making more on a per hour basis than that But you’re missing the real point the companies aren’t hiring from abroad to save a few bucks. They’re hiring because these are critical roles. When your cloud platform, AI pipeline, or data infra goes down, that costs hundreds of millions of dollars per hour. That’s why they hire whoever can handle it American, Indian, European doesn’t matter. You can be from Mars and they'll hire you if you can do it. I have literally seen people who never went to uni but got hired

Japan or Korea are irrelevant. Those are homogenous societies with completely different demographics and education pipelines. The U.S. has always been a a meritocracy built on global talent.. The Google that you use to find this forum was built by a russian Immigrant Sergey Brin, you graphics card which is Nvidia was built by Jensen Huang. Youtube by Steve Chen, PayPal etc. This can go on. Silicon valley is literally built on Immigrants.

Also, saying your ancestors didn’t build anything here is cope economies run on who can build now not whose great grandfather built a railroad. The U.S thrives because it keeps attracting talent from across the world. You benefit from global trade, global software, global infrastructure. US always get the cream of the crop while the rest get it's scraps.

And about identifying as American. Every professional immigrant on a work visa contributes through taxes, patents, and skills without taking anything away. That’s literally the definition of acting in the host country’s interest.

If you’re against all migration globally that’s dine. But then let’s be consistent no Americans in Bali, no European bankers in Dubai, no Western firms outsourcing to Asia. Globalization isn’t a one way thing. The same system that lets American companies dominate markets everywhere also creates the mobility that lets skilled people work globally.

This is cope. "rols unfilled for months" ok? Dude thats a normal economy. Lol months isnt a long time, if the job pays good, its available as a degree at school, and it isnt hypercompetitive, the local population will take the role of it.

Also the H1B do pay less than non h1b

Your very dishonest arent u? You cant put aside your own personal biasees from being a H1B, and not realise what we're saying is absolutely true. I bet u will literally deny this evidence cuz its ideal for u.

Japan and Korea are "homogenous" societies :lul::lul::lul:? Ok so? Wait so whats ur point. America should take in migrants but canada shouldnt cuz it was homogenous? Or Europe shouldnt take in migrants cuz it was homogenous previously? this is cope? USA has always had a massive white majority with around a 10-15% black minority and 2-3% native or east asian. Thats how it has went
Theres been a massive influx of asians who have a way higher educational pressure and often come from poor asian countries, so are willing to do anything and study super hard like they got a gun on the back of their head, making unfair competition. it isnt because "indians are smarter" they legit statistically are not, neither are the ones coming, they just have deep pressure on them cuz if they fail they go back to their shitholes.

There has also been a massive influx of latin american people too. Doing low skill labour, bleading white people dry out of reliable low skilled labour jobs. Also bringing up house prices like crazy. Lol guess who made youtube , chad hurley, who made the world wide web?
Tim Berners-Lee , Robert Cailliau.

I guess we are also ignoring, larry page. Sergey Brin is a white American, Russia already had its own growing tech sector with VK, telegram, he would have founded some russian company anyway? And Russia is a first world country.

amazon made by bezos etc.

Anyways I proved without new generation immigrants America would still have the number 1 tech sector by far. Japan for example had the second biggest economy in the 80s almost overtaking America, whilst having a homogenous society. Sure migration may bring in one or two good CEO or founders here and there but what does it do mostly?

Lower wages for regular people, enrich the ultra-wealthy, increase house prices (of which realestate companies make money of).

Muh economies economies. Then again I proved to u economies dont run on migration. They actually can bleed dry the economy and nations with the best tech sectors are actually homogenous, korea, japan. USA is more than just a "economy" u fucking retard. It has a history, a people, settlers, natives, slaves who became emancipated. The idea that we should all throw away the history, and the grandkids of people who built the country to increase the GDP line is fucking retarded.

Lol your whole purpose is to be exploited and be a slave to big CEOs. I dont give a fuck, u dont remotely ressemble the people of the USA, ur not from a first or even second world country, u undercut wages for people, and the people of America voted for you to pay up or get kicked out. They have a right to do that.

LOL why are u so fucking entitled. The US is a country as i said not just a fucking economy

ur fucking retarded. I called out all glboal migration from the third world to first, and the first world to third or second. Fuck me dude ur really insufferable.

Tech and the job market in general is fucked

American STEM workers need to target government and defense jobs that only citizens can get and then get on internal hiring pathways

I'll come back to this but most of your talking points are moot. I was specifically was talking specialized roles in product based companies not this Infosys, LTIMindtree shit. You clearly don't have experience in this IT field and it shows quite well. I'll come back to it in a few hours.

My cousin worker actually did this. He applied to raytheon but they have a very stringent background check

it isnt moot lol its literal all fact. Trying to act like I need to know IT to not know what job outsourcing is , is dishonest. Indians arent smart, indians dont have shit to offer, other than the fact that a lot are very desperate and willing to take lower wages and less rights in the workfield or some sort of comprimise to get the job.

Lol explain why they arent outsourcing the jobs from any first world country then? Right...

Why is global migration to the west coming from poorer countries. Why when a european country develops to a good economic level like poland recently, do they suddenly get an influx of migrants?

I've talked about how the company I work at rn was already making plans to offshore work and the shift is going on in full swing

Apparently even other companies are doing this. They are trying to move all teams abroad than bring them to the US so in other words it changes nothing

Not to worried about offshoring it will happen and it did happen multiple times every time the economy is shit. Some low-level jobs don't come back but the companies start getting sick of the shitty work and communication of offshoring an entire department and revert back to in house.

I worked for this company and they lost millions because of their decision to offshore almost bankrupted them.

Theres no ill will, at the end of the day hes just a worker , there are far worser people like marxists, all this is , is just rich people being unchecked and influencing the entire demographics of the nation and shifting its whole economy into enriching themselves.

I just wanted to remind him he isnt wanted or needed. Only people who need him are rich companies so they can give out by american standards, pretty shitty contracts. My brother works in the IT sector he talks about having to compete with indians on visas and shit and how its ruining his job prospects etc.

he still obviously got the job luckily but it definitley would have and should be paying more for his degree at oxbridge.

Im not anti-capitalist im very pro free market im not even for a universal healthcare system, the free market has brought billions out of poverty, its an amazing system, but the free market shouldnt be a thing for international migration otherwise u legit wont have a country or it will be unrecognisable if u see ur country not as an identity, nation with history, and as just a "economy" that needs the gdp line to go up.

Japan was homogenous and they almost overtook the USA in gdp btw, so theres 0 benefit to whats going on than enriching billionaires. Americans gain 0 benefit out of it.

I think billionaires should do shit in interest of americans and themselves. Remember when companies like in n out put bible quotes on their meals, paid their workers good, not out of "Justice" or something but because they wanted to keep them and hire Americans.

Issue is billionaires should acknowledge they are American billionaires, their assets are in America, they cant just bring people across the world like there arent borders for their own profit. Then again the government should be responsible to not let this shit happen.

billionaires are incentivized to return as much money to the shareholders as possible.Perhaps there are certain companies unwilling to do such unethical practices.

But they get outcompeted by those who do. The only way to fix this would be with government intervention.

I’m not a fan of the profit motive being mindlessly applied to all industries.

The profit motive really doesn’t make sense for a lot of industries.

Healthcare for example, they aren’t incentivized to provide the best healthcare. Instead they’re incentivized to raise premiums as much as possible and deny claims as much as possible.

Same with energy, grids should be nationalized. In certain states it’s territory based so you can’t even pick your energy provider… which defeats the whole purpose of the free market.

The profit motive only works so long as there is sufficient competition. If it gets to a point where a handful of companies control every industry we get what we have now.

They aren’t incentivized to provide the best service for the people but instead use unethical practices to maximize profit. Hence things like jobs being outsourced or outright stolen.

The free market is good for certain industries and as long as there is a lot of competition. But it shouldn’t be mindlessly applied everywhere.

The government needs some involvement.

yup. Issue is the politicans are intertwined with the bussinesses and theres lobbying groups and special interests groups. Imo that should be banned. Donations should be limited to like 100k per person and every loophole should be blocked.

When the politicians coming in on both sides arent boomer establishment paid offf by special interest groups and who do it for the love of the game we wont have this. Like trump or not he is fully in it ts , hes one of the only recent presidents to lose networth in his terms.

He caused global markets to panic just cuz the blue collar workers who voted for him were getting outsourced to china and other second world and third world countries.

Anyways the government wasnt accountable and people didnt want more retarded of the same shit so people voted for the populist candidate in 2024. Its lifefuel that u could vote urself out of this
