Firstly, becoming a licensed pharmacist is not difficult. A lot of stupid people become pharmacists. It is kind of niche profession, few kids grow up thinking "I want a be a pharmacist". The people that major in Pharmacy sciences (or whatever the fuck it called) usually do so because their parents were pharmacists. It pays a decent wage, especially entry level, and the work is easy, and recession proof. TBH, if I knew 100 years ago what I know now, I would have become a Pharmacist rather than majored in Chemical Engineering.

Secondly, it has become a scam profession. All the different price models and discount programs, a lot of ways to manipulate the prices that can be charged. Most of the honest people have gotten out of the profession. The people that remain are mostly two bit scammers willing to lie for an extra $500 in their monthly bonus check.

It's even worse with psychologists/therapists. When I think back of my high-school graduating class, the people who went to study psychology there were the most unambitious losers of the class who struggled with basic math, discipline, anything really.

It's insane that later on, as a 25-30yo truecel, I try to get mental-health help, and I end up with these 'educated therapists' who can't help me with anything.
Unironically a dedicated chill energetic yoga-teacher, masseuse, etc. is better for my mental-health than that clinical garbage.

My aunts used to say: 'Why would you ever see a therapist? The best therapist is your barber which you talk to extensively once a month.'
And I can see why.
