currently growing out my hair for the first time in years, hairs curly but getting frustrated with the messy bits near my side burns is this part of curls growing over the ears or should i trim back?

i straightened it for 5 years straight bro would even bring my straightener in my school bag if i knew i’d get sweaty during sport and go into the change rooms and straighten it jfl, always had my laptop open looking at the reflection in the screen making sure it was perfect
