Hair health with 2b/2c need help/insight

So I have pretty thick 2b/2c hair but the problem I have is that i’ve grown it out to medium length and it is uncontrollably dry unless I use leave in conditioner or curl cream (based leave in OR ogx curl cream). I condition everyday and shampoo 1 time a week at most. My hair looks really good wet out of the shower but then just dries into a big poof of hair unless I use product which I don’t want to use every single day. Does anyone have any tips to help me or experience please.

*Another thing is that even if I style my hair and like it any amount of wind just destroys my hairs shape and it will never go back to its original shape/look

no shampoo increased my hair health and look
