Hair transplant surgeon mentioned finesteride now my parents wont let me get the surgery

jfl npc suregon keeps saying finestide when i told i him ive been diagnosed with scarring alopecia that has stabilized for 2 years without meds, still says if i get shock loss ill need finesteride. My parents wont let me get the HT if ill need fin fml (which i wont, no fam history + no MPB diagnosed and no hair loss in 2 years)

I got traction alopecia not FA, the surgeon said it won’t relapse unless I do the same hairstyles that caused it.

My hair loss was caused from constant tension over 2-3 years of bad hair style practices in my teens and has been stable 100% since I stopped those hairstyles. I really don’t see how fin would do anything here
