Hairline Lowering: Surgery, Transplants, and Fraud Options (Full Guide) (High effort thread)

Before I start this thread I do want to make it clear that this is my first thread ever (other then rate me) and I will most likely miss some things. But, before you click off I did put a lot of effort into this post so please read it through and comment if there is anything I missed that I could add in a later updated thread (after I fact check and cross check info)

I want to start off by covering something most won’t, a lot of people think that there hairline sucks because of the face shape. Weather it’s because they don’t have a good mid-face or something else, not all/every “big forehead” is because of hairline (yes most of the time they do but I’m a prime example of someone with this issue).

Next, before doing anything surgical determine whether your hairline is stable or receding. A transplant is not look good in 3-5 years on a unstable hairline.

Non-surger/frauding:

This is what most of you will probably end up doing because it’s the easiest way to get rid of a bad forehead. Getting a hairstyle that covers as many imperfections as possible is always ideal.
It could be a fringe or whatever suits you, this thread isn’t about hair though so I’ll keep it short

The next fraud you could do is makeup or specifically temple shading using contour, so I do this no is it an option yes what does it do ? It can make your forehead look less flat and more defined which can help take away from a larger forehead especially if it’s large horizontally.

Growth protocol (if thinning/receding):

Weekly

-Microneedling 1.5mm once per week
(Do NOT apply minoxidil immediately after, wait 24 hours)

Daily

-Minoxidil only if there is actual miniaturization
If 18+ and balding runs in family

- Finasteride only after researching side effects
Start with 0.25mg 3x/week, not full dose.

This restores density if the issue is thinning, not genetics of a naturally high hairline.

Surgery/transplant:

Hairline lowering Surgery (Forehead reduction), this should be used only in severe cases of a large forehead. This is because side effects can include scaring along the hairline.

Cost: 7k-isk botch rates less than 1%

Hair transplant (FUE or Fu FUT), this can be used both

This can be used for someone who has hair loss or someone who wants a lower hairline, some pros: can shape exactly how you want to. cons: only Works well if you have strong donor hair, takes months to grow in (would probably recommend Just going bald and re-growing)

Cost: 3K to 15k defending on your graft count.

Conclusion

- If your hairline is stable: Fraud + hairstyle change is the smartest move.

- If you’re thinning: Microneedling + Minoxidil (+ Fin if 18+).

-If your forehead is genuinely large and stable: Consider hairline lowering.

- If you want shape/customization: Consider transplant (only with strong donor).

Don’t rush into surgery because of insecurity. Understand why your forehead looks the way it does and choose the solution that matches the cause.

Anyway I hope you gained something from this post and let me know if I missed anything !
