Make of it as you wish. I was hoping for better tret results tho

I should also say that I was sleeping and eating very poorly pre retinoids

Tretinoin is pretty standard, you don't even need to see a specialist in Australia to get it prescribed.
Just go to them and ask about getting tretinoin prescribed, I'm sure they'd accommodate your request.
Get 0.025% first and see how you react, then you can increase frequency/dosage progressively.

100%, I could go see my GP in Australia right now and just straight-up ask and they'd give it to me. How old are you now? If you're younger then they might be less inclined but I started using it around 15/16.

You shouldn't have an issue. It's not like it's isotretinoin where it's quite involved to get prescribed.

No chance, tretinoin is normally a precursor to isotretinoin for acne treatment - normally you won't get isotretinoin prescribed unless you have very severe acne and/or have tried other things like tretinoin first.

As isotretinoin is liver toxic and directly impacts hormones in your body, tretinoin is just a topical cream.
