It has become really unfair in our class because the teacher treats students differently depending on who they are. For example, one student was given extra time to finish homework even though he openly admitted he just forgot to do it, while other students get in trouble straight away for the same thing. Another student got a 5 in weekly notes just because he made his title look “big and cool,” even though lots of other people had already done the exact same thing before him and never got rewarded for it. She also punishes certain students for behaviour that other students get away with, which makes the rules feel inconsistent. One situation that really upset people was when she asked a student if he was autistic, even though she already knew he struggles with learning and focusing in class. On top of that, she has called our class “pathetic,” which made a lot of students feel embarrassed and disrespected. There was also a student who received a litter for apparently sitting in his chair the “wrong” way and doing “ridiculous” things to it, even though it did not seem serious enough to deserve that level of punishment. Another serious issue was when a student with diabetes was not allowed to eat even though his blood sugar was low. Luckily, it was almost morning tea time, but students were still worried because situations like that can become dangerous very quickly.
