Hanging out with less attractive guys to have highest SMV

I've noticed that when I am out with less attractive guys, I get huge attention from females. In comparison, when there is EVEN JUST ONE better looking guy (in my case, it's usually the height factor) in the gathering, that attention takes a huge hit.

Has anyone purposefully adopted this strategy, whereby you intentionally only go to gatherings where all other males are less attractive?
Would love to hear your experiences.

Yup, can't hangout with sub-5's because there won't be females (or at least, not gl ones) in the gatherings anyway.
