im getting pretty close to actually picking a career path for my future what jobs/career paths have the best roi??? i don't really mind hard work or being a corporate slave all that much.

software developer seems decent if you wouldn't burn out doing it but idk

Engineer

Gain engineer mindset and improve critical thinking ability, work in a comfortable environment, 40 hour work week so plenty of time for side business.

The fact that you mentioned you don't mind being a corporate slave is huge. Your level of self awareness will get you so far in life bro, not even joking. I respect a man that participates in the rat race not by illusion but by choice/preference for comfort.

Anyways, the answer is join the Air Force or Space force for 4 years, get into any tech position, get out the military and do that same tech position as a government contractor. This is literally the easiest path to follow for pretty decent wealth accumulation for the least stress/work.

Try to go for anything cyber security for sure. If you don't score enough on the asvab to get these positions, pivot to anything admin, and get an admin job in the federal government after you get your discharge.
