Hard gum chewing on premolars with slight malocclusion, before/during braces, does it add asymmetry risk?

I chew hard gum like mastic/falim on my premolars to improve the masseter. I have a slight misalignment that'll probably need braces. Searched and found threads on chewing-caused asymmetry and on bracket damage from gum, but nothing on whether chewing hard gum with an existing misalignment (before treatment) or during braces changes the asymmetry risk specifically, vs. someone with a normal bite. Anyone dealt with this?

I'm not entirely sure. I have a malocclusion and skeletal asymmetry. I developed TMD because of improper chewing after getting my braces off
