Does hard mewing really work or it's a cope and make you face assymeterical?

I believe it gave me hooded eyes.
I didn't mew the way it was intended to, i put pressure on the area which is back of my teeth, and only tongue tip touches my upper palate, I can feel a force on my brow ridge when I put pressure on that area, so I believe I must have got hooded eyes from that
