Hello,
I am 21 years old. I have always struggled with gaining weight since I was a child. I have been to doctors and they did not detect any disease, but the situation is severe— I weigh 55–60 kg at 180 cm tall. I’ve tried several drastic bulking diets (including sugar and fast food), but nothing works; I can’t add more than 5 kg above my baseline, and even if I do, it isn't sustainable for me to maintain. So I’ve looked online and seen several options:
  1. I believe the first and most effective option is steroids (specifically TRT). I don’t want to become a bodybuilder; we know that in looks, the face is most important, not the body, so if I were to take TRT, it would only be to return to a weight considered optimal. Is it safe to use steroids at low doses to achieve moderate muscle mass growth? Or if I take steroids, will I have to take 20+ other drugs and become a walking pharmacology ?
  2. The second option is appetite-stimulating hormones such as Ghrelin or Cyproheptadine, but I am not as informed about these drugs. However, they seem like a better alternative to steroids because I wouldn't get the side effects of androgenic.
  3. The third option would be peptides. I’ve seen many peptides for weight loss, but fewer for gaining weight. Still, I’m not informed enough to make a stable decision regarding which peptides are right for me. We know that 'lean is law,' and yet, even though I just want to add weight, it is preferable for that weight to be muscle mass.
If you have any suggestions, I am open to hearing them. I would appreciate a detailed explanation covering dosages, optimal timing for administration, and where these substances can be sourced. Furthermore, I’d like to know if I should use them only for a limited period to achieve results, or if the benefits vanish once I stop taking them. Obviously, I'm going to do my own independent research on the recommended medications to know what I’m getting into, but I’d also like to hear some personal experiences. In my view, people are far too afraid to try these medications; in reality, the aesthetic improvements to one's looks far outweigh the potential side effects.

I thought ectomorph n the other types were bs @tomahawk

Dude you’re overcomplicating it. In 99.9% of cases it’s just not eating enough or even going to the gym. It’s that simple

Yeah what others said. This hardgainer thing is bogus ; eat more. Not necessary in quantity, although it helps. You don't have to become sick. What you need is high dense caloric food/nutrients. In theory eating a jar of peanut butter allows you to be in a massive surplus.
Of course we don't want to overdo and gain too much fat. Be smart, read nutritional values on the back of your products. Make smart meals, add sauces here and there, a shaker before bed and COUNT YOUR MACROS.

It's not rocket science.
