Wouldn't it smell rancid after 5 hours?

Just smash an egg yolk on your head and spread it onto your hair, then add some coconut oil because that helps locking in the proteins from the yolk, and wash with really cold water after 30 minutes, my hair looks insanely good after that for a good couple of days
