I’ve been on a relatively low TRT dose for just under 10 months, around 125–150 mg of testosterone per week.
My skin has absolutely gotten several shades darker since starting testosterone.
The problem is that I don’t think it suits me at all. Some guys genuinely look better with a darker complexion, but I don’t. I looked significantly better with my natural brighter complexion. I have dark hair, brown eyes, and dark eyebrows, and the lighter skin created much better contrast. Now I feel like my skin just looks dull and muddy compared to before.
The annoying part is that TRT has been great for physiquemaxxing. Better muscle gain, better recovery, easier to stay lean, and more drive in the gym. But aesthetically, I think the skin tone change has been a net negative for my face.
For reference, my natural testosterone before hopping on was around 565–600 ng/dL, so I wasn’t hypogonadal or anything. I just decided to run TRT.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Curious if anyone else has dealt with this or if I’m just one of the unlucky ones.

- Did your skin lighten back up after coming off TRT?
- Did HCG or another restart protocol help?
- Besides strict sunscreen, hydroquinone, kojic acid, tretinoin, vitamin C, etc., is there anything that actually made a noticeable difference?
- How long did it take to get back to your previous complexion, if it happened?
Curious if anyone else has dealt with this or if I’m just one of the unlucky ones.
