Has anyone else noticed that people in the past (like 1940s) had comically longer legs and shorter torsos than people now?

Perhaps this has to do with environmental factors like diet change
like people back then were much skinnier and had much cleaner less processed diets
im not implying they are better or anything due to a cleaner diet
im just saying how interesting it is that every time I see footage of ppl from that time, they had much longer leg : torso ratios on average than people now
it is very obvious from what I observed
it was common for them even to have my freakish leg : torso proportions

this could also relate to the difference between the growth factors of torso growth compared to leg growth

Dress factors as well, people back then wore more formal, long pants which emphasize or exacerbates these differences in ratios, on a perceptual level

sure but nonetheless their proportions were still considerably different

I definitely noticed myself (even putting fashion aside). Boys used to hit puberty at like 16 a hundred years ago. That probably had something to do with it.
