More specifically, with a beard trimmer instead of a conventional hair clipper that barbers use
I’m asking because i’m in a hurry and it would be more convenient to just cut my hair myself rather than go to a barber this time

If you’ve given yourself a buzz before with a beard trimmer did it come out even and did you have any problems while using it?

Did it to my friend once, came out fucking terrible.

Take the extra time and get it done “professionally” rather than urself, your going to end up going to barber anyways to fix what you did to yourself

It can’t be that bad, I already have short hair
the only thing i’m thinking of that could be problematic is the fact that I have a beard trimmer and not a clipper which could make the cut very uneven

i did it myself
With a trimmer or a clipper?
Did it turn out even especially on your crown and the back of your head?
Did you give yourself a taper or a fade or a lineup?

All in your hands now, could go great could go terribly. Why do you want a buzzcut anyways?

I will eventually, just hearing out other people’s experiences first
Have you done it before? Trimmer or clipper? did it come out even? Did you give yourself a taper/fad/lineup too?

My hair is already short and at an awkward length right now so I have two choices

Either I wait months to grow it long, or I just buzz it today, anything is better than what I have right now

Agreed. But if you buzz it its going to be the awkward stage all over again, I say you just stick it out and let it grow.

Well i’m going somewhere tommorow so I need it to look professional, but one day I will let it grow

I cut my hair by myself, but no fade. Fades at home can end up bad the first times. Since it's a buzzcut it is easier. Go for it you should not be scared, watch a video so you have some idea.

I’m not scared at all, just worried. By the way, did you use two or one mirrors? and did you give yourself a lineup as well?

1 small mirror that I have in one hand + normal mirror. Ideally you would have those 3 in 1 mirrors sold specifically for self-cuts. Or have someone help you with the back of your head.
What does "lineup" mean?

lineup is when you sharpen the edges of your hairline
