Has anyone gotten an MDO

Has anyone here gotten an MDO (Mandibular Distraction Osteogenesis)? From my preliminary research it essentially sounds like a MARPE for mandible length, split the bone, stick a device on it, turn the thing every day to slowly expand it pulling it apart. It looks better than a BSSO with shorter recovery time and better growth, but I have never heard of it and can't find many instances of people other than infants getting it.

Anyone have experience with it?

Haven't gotten it but I was planning on it. I believe unlike a BSSO, where it promotes forward growth of the mandible, an MSDO promotes sideways growth, making your jaw wider. I wanna see if I can pair MARPE/MSDO with a bimax later on to achieve forward and wider growth.
