I was wondering because I'm ordering a palate expander with head tubes, but I don't want to buy the traditional headgear (I think @Wincel told me that you had to adjust it for it not to promote downward growth.). So, could anyone tell me if they've successfully made his headgear and used it? What were the results (assuming there were any)?

I think they send you an impression kit in which you bite into and then you send it back to them so they can custom make your palate expander for you. You can also buy headgear tubes with it.
