Like not just a few hours of screen time/jerking off every so often I mean full on dependency from fucked up regulation and brain chemistry ruining your sleep, wasting your days and killing your joy

Any particular protocols or drugs beyond water shit like “use a screen time app” (i just end up bypassing it)

Yeah you need to get a physical lock on your phone

Eg:

Literally impossible to bypass. The only problem is if you have to go outside somewhere, then ur kinda fucked

See my problem is how tech has weaseled itself into being socially and practically necessary for everything

E.g I want to delete instagram but I use it to message so may people and stories/posts have a social value, but there is ZERO functionality or means to block reels (a very intentional and evil choice by meta). Staying off tiktok is much easier

If phones were just for fun and weren’t necessary for so may other things in my life I’d genuinely just go phone free

Lowk, what worked the best is: any time you ever feel comfortable, like being on your bed or anything similar, walk away and find something to do. Like even just talking to a friend instead or cleaning can help

This works when I’m in a normal head space tbh its definitely valid
But I still find times where I genuinely just dissociate and hours pass before I regain any sort of agency and can just do that

Meditation and/or Prayers and/or Psilocybin and/or DMT (the last two would obviously require tons of preparation, proper set and setting, as well as setting your intention)

Fair, I mean it's just hard in general even if you follow my advice, but there's only a couple other methods left. One method would be to get other people or a person, and you hold each other accountable. Other than that I think finding something that would work for you is just trial and error.

drugs to get dopamine or to get rid of dopamine addiction

Exercise free will and stop being a bug

This is one of the only things that have worked for me but I’m also too ashamed to pester my friends to do it and I live alone rn

drugs to get dopamine or to get rid of dopamine addiction
To regulate dopamine tone and dependency ig
Idk if adhd drugs would help with this or just make high dopamine activities more rewarding

(i just end up bypassing it)
What do you want us to say? You can always just bypass any measure. If you don't want to stop consooming, you won't.

Yeah that's the only side effect but the other ways people say can be really harmful like taking a bunch of drugs or just falling into temptation and not doing anything about it.

Bedrotting is too enjoyable and addictive

I learned that the only way to stop bedrotting was to disassociate your room to everything but sleep. I only sleep in my room and have my wardrobe and it honestly makes it really easy to just not stay in my room.

Don’t use your phone in the toilet either

I mean yeah but I never had that problem because I never started, all addictions are just from habits you made.

It's going to be your own journey but essentially there's a few ways to approach it, really you should incorporate numerous methods although it also depends on what it is. But replacement activities are one thing: whenever you chase a high, replace it with something simpler. In general practice being higher PFC and plan more of what you do (so even if its just not eating junk food in the fridge, that's training your willpower which is not the most important thing but is a component), do things like greyscale on your phone for a lower level of dopamine boost, no sound when you can and especially avoid sensory overlap, you can give yourself reminders whenever you open your phone through naming folders of apps, pre-planning what you do even if it amounts to binge watching things for hours the important thing is your brain knows what to expect(do this until you get to a point where you have higher control). Understanding that this is the result of bad habituation and feedback loops and will be fixed by good habituation and feedback loops is important. Don't stress.

Not an exhaustive list, but essentially lower the dopamine response, understand why it's happening, and slowly wedge yourself off it. As I said before, willpower is important but also a bit of a meme, the important part is to strategically limit yourself although this requires good metacognition. So for example intentionally not plugging your phone in so when you return you'll have to wait for it to be charged, essentially self sabotaging your future self who you know will act in this way.

you should try and get a prescription, they would help though they do wear off and there is a cliff like drop but after a hour or 2, for me my dopamine levels equal out and im fine again

I really wanna try DMT/ayahuasca but I fear that I have the kind of mind such that its a 50/50 between genuinely turning into ted kaczynski 2.0 or actually gaining profound insights into my life and healing

Then do the other options, they're unironically just as powerful but in a different way

youd have to stop posting here unless you have a genuine question you cant find the answer to anywhere. I read some studied about how psychedelics can rewire neurological reward connections thats why ppl experiment with them to end addiction maybe you can look into that. It would take intense discipline

Yeah org is definitely another dopamine sink
Not the worst one I have right now and it least I’m actually typing stuff out and engaging with posts rather than just consuming slop but I need to reduce my usage a lot
Definitely looking into psychedelics
