The thread I read dude said no change in smile lines but I don’t doubt it

Would be generational if a piece of plastic could widen my mouth

eh i'd still moisturise just to be safe, it's one of those better safe than sorry situations
i think to get permanent results though you need to do it daily but at a hassle of always having to moisturise
but pretty much everyone who uses it says it works
not sure of the time frame you'd need to keep the gains though
from one narrowlipcel to another :feelshmm:

i dont know, but im just parroting what other people say tbh
what i think would work is applying face tape onto your smile lines
heavy moisturisation (specifically on the folds) + face tape should be more than enough to atleast reduce smile lines with long term use

how would tape help in this case? tape to reduce fine lines is usually to stop muscle movement. but we aren't contracting any muscles we're just stretching surrounding soft tissue. unless you mean tape them in a way which keeps them stretched out idk

Maybe tape directly onto them to stop the skin from folding

but you aren't even folding the skin, there are no contractions of the muscle whatsoever. TBH the whole mouth widening causing smile lines thing doesn't even make sense in the first place, let alone using tape to mitigate it.

But however i have just seen now while typing this that you were considering buying facial flex, doing these exercises will cause smile lines as your of course contracting the muscle (doing reps). in theory tape could help if you do still want to do these.

see this thread:

and to answer this, yes training the orbicularis oris supposedly helps the resting mouth position and helps keep lip corners upturned and lead to a more pleasant (potentially less droopy) lip appearance overall, but it won't make it wider.

How to train orbicularis oris?

well the facial flex device is designed to strengthen this muscle among others, but there are some other copes you can do like "resistance smiles" and "lip puckering".

The evidence for any of this muscle training having a desirable effect is fairly limited anyway, but if you do want to train the muscles around your mouth area the best option would probably be the facial flex device but i do believe it can cause smile lines lines as seen in the thread i linked.
