They are not investment bankers because of their intelligence or work ethic, they are there because of their looks and maybe more importantly their social and family connections. I remember talking to this guy once, who was a hedge fund manager at a big firm. He wore a suit and drove a nice car and all that bullshit. I was talking to him about what exactly he does, all the economic calculations and shit and asked him what he had to learn when he went to school to be able to process and understand all this complicated shit. He looked at me like I was crazy and said “Nah man I just plug in the numbers to this program and it tells me what to do”. He explained how, he would get a client, ask them shit like whats your income and whats your credit score and how much debt do you have, then he would say “ok ill review this” but he would just plug this shit into the program and whatever the program said to do, he would tell the client. Thats just one example but I think you see what I mean
