By best friend I mean someone you would hang out with religiously. He considers you his best friend and you consider him your best friend.

A peak autistic trait is being a wall flower I think. Just bouncing around between different friend groups.

I never had a friend because I despise most people. I hate everyone. All I need is pussy to pound, but besides that, I love being alone.

I don’t think most people can live like that but as long as you’re happy

I did but friends fade after a while just like snow does.

Ever since I was a kid, I never had friends. Never went over to anyone’s house. Never went to the movies or the mall with friends. Never had anyone. And I’m glad. I enjoy my own company. I have fun with myself. Luckily I found a girl whom I love and we can do things together. I guess you can say she’s my girlfriend + best friend.

I had one for 6 years when I was a kid and one for 4 years when I was a teen
So non in adulthood? I think this is a common theme for people when they hit adulthood. Friends fade and the only thing you really have left is your partner. Another reason why it’s over if you don’t find a high quality gf

the interesting thing is that I had friends when I was 6-12 when i went out with them regularly, played games, visit their houses. but in the period when teenage years began, I distanced myself from them because they did not consider me a friend then.

i dont hate them or anything i just got a bad social anxiety, started playing video games and had zero interest in socializing with girls, so it was clear that no one would remember some loser who is isolated.

When I reached adulthood I am 23, I realized friends don't exist. They are handy and sometimes it's fun but more than that it's of no use to you. Unless you find a true soulmate who you can consider a brother, but these are rarer than diamonds these days.

I should have specified my thread. It’s very strange not to have friends when you are pre-teen. It’s from teenage years and onwards a clear divide come from people not having friends and becoming social rejects. I think your life experience is very similar to a lot of people on this forum.

What do you mean by they are “of use” to you?

I should’ve made my question present tense. A lot of the responses are saying they had one

well, i think there are a lot of people who didnt have any friends as kid. But mostly it's either the parents' fault - constant moving, isolation - or some psychological defect like autism when the child is different from others. obviously this forum is full of people who are friendless as teenagers till now.
