Not violent enough, but it takes time. Also as an important piece of advice, it needs to be principled in why, random in when, and out of proportion. If you're not really to really hurt one of these people for slightly annoying you, then it won't work.

Essentially, say they know that you will only respond once they cause you a certain amount of harm, we'll consider the harm they need to cause for you to respond to be 100, so h = 100. If they know this, then they can just go to 99 every time and know you won't respond.

Hence, it needs to be prinicpled in being caused by them harming you but random in the threshold. Otherwise their mental model still allows them to exploit you.
