there are many average clowns who behave like they spent the last night watching videos of redpill gurus; those will often attempt asserting themselves over guys they don't find threatening to impress the girl they know is communicating with them.

the effect is still positive overall, though, yeah. the sad aspect of it is that guys will mostly do this to use you as a proxy to talk to the girl, because most stand 0 chance of befriending one directly unless they run numbers game.

then there are spineless jokes who act like your best friends because it's a status halo in an exclusively male group, but have a mental breakdown stoop so low that they start "randomly" bringing up every remotely negative thing about you (of course, all irrelevant banalities) if there is a girl present. experienced this a couple of times after football and it was extremely painful to listen to it (to both me and everyone else who was there). after a while, i legit started thinking he'll start begging the girl to ignore me, lmfao. i was the most gl guy in that situation by far, but we didn't interact at all, which made his sperging fucking comical.
