It‘s even worse than having a tyrant father, because from a father you already expect him to be strict and more aggressive, but the mother is supposed to be caring, a safe space for her child. If she instead beats the child and verbally abuses it, causing the child to be scared around her, it causes big psychological harm and trauma that can never be reversed. It destroys your trust in humans in general growing up without a "motherly“ mother.
