She is going mental over it because her son roped at the age of 18 after graduating from that School as a special needs student, looking at her son I am getting a Downie vibe. No one is taking the one mentally ill woman seriously. The Kangz' behavior around the police is not consistent with "a child that did not know what he was doing"

on the other hand though, no one who's normal would accept to be enrolled in a special needs school, so there has to be an element of truth to it. not to defend him, but just because he's 6'6" doesn't mean he can't be actually mentally ill
