It depends on what area you are treating, firstly.

All fillers differ in viscosity - some are used to replicate soft tissue, and some are used to replicate bone.

Different forms of hyaluronic acids can replicate both, but Radiesse, since it's made of calcium hydroxylapatite which is naturally found in our bones, works great on the contours of the face - the cheekbones, the jawline, and the chin. Because of Radiesse's thick viscosity, you would not use this in areas such as the lips or the under-eyes.

Filler, specifically hyaluronic acid, can migrate in certain areas. These two regions being the lips and the under-eyes. This is because these two areas either have a collapsed fat pad (in the under-eye, which causes a hollow), or contain no fat pad (in the lip).

Filler in other areas of the place are usually injected subcutaneously, under both the fat and muscle layer, straight onto the bone. Filler injected here usually stays and has quite limited, if any, migration at all. This is basic anatomy. If filler is trapped under the layers of the dermis, fat, and muscle, straight onto bone, then there is no way it can migrate away from it.

I struggle to understand why some people on here are so quick to say that filler migrates. It does migrate, but this is dependent on the area injected and the technique used. The lip is notorious for filler migration as a result to limited fat padding, having high levels of muscle contraction, being relatively thin, and being surrounded by the orbicularis oris muscle - which pushes filler from the vermillion border into the upper lip area, creating a moustache-like appearance. But again, this occur whens an excess of filler is used, or if it has been injected superficially.

Hyaluronic acid is linked with double carbon bonds, which means it doesn't get absorbed into the body and breaks down naturally over time by the body's natural reserve of hyaluronidase.

I've honestly never heard of any links between filler and causing cancer, sorry...
