The supposed problem with hedonism, is that people will strive towards actions that derive them pleasure. The pleasure largely has a negative connotation, when in reality there is nothing wrong with striving towards pleasure.

The problem is most people derive pleasure from unproductive things. Lebron James, Messi, Tiger Woods etc. did not become world renowned athletes and millionaires because they thought sport was boring. They derived pleasure from doing sports and competing.

If you don’t derive pleasure from what you’re doing in the process everyday, you’ll never reach your goal. The best thing you can do is finding something you derive pleasure from and finding a way to monetise it.

So should I drop out of my college (which I hate) to try and do acting or modelling ,even though it’s very risky?

That’s up to you

Chasing pleasure is vanity. Rather have an ideal you strive for that you get satisfaction out of fulfilling instead of being a drone indulging in worthless short pleasure bursts that only lead to destruction.

Hedonism ≠ short pleasure burst.
