HYPERGAMY
Hypergamy is the practice of dating based on the notion that a person may seek a partner who possesses greater resources, social standing, education, career success, influence, or overall status. Historically, the term has often been used in discussions about marriage and social class, where individuals sought partners from a higher social or economic position.
