As you can see here, clearly men of average height have the greatest reproductive success (in the US). The graphs actually show that society is way more heightist than women.
We all know that in the Netherlands it's the opposite but interestingly in the US average height men and short women have the most reproductive success. The average height of the US white males has remained the same over the last few decades and immigration is actually driving the average height overall down. Another interesting point made in this study, money and status are way more important than height
Now this is a good thing because height provides no tangible advantages in modern day society, and instead lowers life expectancy/increases prevalence of aging related illnesses.
However, we all know that women in the Netherlands prefer taller men and taller men there have more reproductive success.
It's probably because of cultural influences but it's not exactly clear what they are.
Other studies confirm the desire for greater heights is probably cultural as tribes tend to be less heightist than women, and most women irl are terrible at estimating height, people inflate their heights, etc
TLDR: Manlets move to the US and lanklets move to the Netherlands. Being too tall is a thing just like being too short. Money and status are way more important than height. Height is just a cope when it's all about face.
Note: these are your legit heights (barefoot book on your head against wall). Dating preferences showed that being the self reported average is ideal for online dating (people round up to the nearest inch in most dating sites except for tinder where they round up 2 inches)

When controlling for education and income, the maximal predicted reproductive success of 2.57 children was obtained by a man of 177.79 cm. (is 70 in, btw the average height of a 20 year old white male in the US)

The effect of height was modest, being almost three times smaller than the effect of income, and 4.5 times smaller than the effect of education
