A senior colleague at my new workplace (50s white male) said he was very impressed with my hard work and decided to book a "luxury 5 star hotel room in the city" (35 minute journey) this evening without my permission, and invited me to the room (he said I'd be alone). He said he wants me to enjoy the night and all the facilities the hotel has to offer. He gave me the invite at like 5pm and expects me to come at 9pm at a particular room number. He said I'd get to enjoy a nice breakfast.
I'm suspicious, why me?
I spoke to my parents and my fiancée and they already are telling me don't do it even if I'd get bad blood between me and him. He already booked it without my permission.
My fiancée lives 2 hours away from me.
My dad also finds it highly suspicious he booked the hotel room for a male colleague (me) and not for a female colleague.
