I need some advice! I have a deep and distal bite, and I've been thinking about bimax or lefort surgery, but my orthodontist said that it can be fixed with braces without surgery. The plan is to move the upper teeth slightly back and the lower teeth slightly forward to correct the bite, but I'm worried that moving the upper teeth will also move my maxilla, which is already flat. Should I be concerned about this? I want to receive valuable advice from experienced and knowledgeable individuals.

no surgery is a really bad idea for your case.
double jaw surgery CWR + chin setback should be the best way to go,
Mandibular advancement for the bare minimum.

I would advise you to try and get all this looksmaxxing crap done in as little time as possible. Otherwise it will eat at you and you will turn into one of the many autists on here.

To this end, you should seek to do a bimax and rhinoplasty at the same time. Some maxillofacial surgeons who are also trained in plastic surgery are able to do this. Raffaini famously did this when necessary, although I wouldn’t recommend him any longer. Ramieri can work with Marianetti to do this in the same procedure as well. I encourage you to DYOR to find better surgeons that satisfy this criteria, which I assure you there are.

Do not attempt to figure out measurements and movements yourself. Find a maxfac who values soft tissue as the aesthetic reference, and let him do his thing. Come here once you have a surgical plan and we can make sure your surgeon isn’t doing something retarded.

I think it's a smart idea to understand movements and measurements - basic Cephalometric planes and angles as well as soft tissue ratios/angles/planes. That way you can understand what the surgeon's plan is and know what's realistically possible and ultimately be satisfied with the planning.

Most people just comply with what the surgeon gives you due to the surgeon being a person of institutionalised authortiy. Yes you could get a great result but at the same time you could be underadvanced or over advanced and end up with chimp lip or overrotated and end up with class 3 lips.

yes. you have a big discrepancy between your jaws and even some little room to bring the upper jaw forward (and probably downward aswell), camouflaging of the bite won't do you any justice.

The orthodontist plan will be absolute death for your aesthetics. If they retract your upper teeth, they will retract your upper lip. Your philtrum will flatten out even more. Your nasolabial angle will open up, making your nose look even bigger and your midface even flatter. DON'T DO THIS
