4y - 12x = 3

Convert to Ax + By = C form

-12x + 4y = 3

Then take this form and find slope using - A / B as the slope m is derived from this

- A / B = - (-12) / (4) = 3

Do the other yourself.

4y=12x+3

divide by 4

y=3x+0.75

y=mx+b form

m is the slope, b is y-intercept

Putting it in standard form is just "extra steps."

when you are solving for slope is the x the slope or the y the slope? and what do you solve for in the question?

First, we need to get the equations in the form y = mx + b. For 2y-6x=-30, divide both sides by 2 to give:
y-3x=-15====> y = 3x -15
for 4y -12x =3 we divide 4 to both sides:
=====> y = 3x+3/4

Now, we have y = 3x -15 and y = 3x + 3/4 If the lines are parallel, they will have the same slope/gradient, which is the m in the form y = mx + b. If they are perpendicular, the the gradients will be related by the equation m1 = -1/m2 or m2 = -1/m1.
They are parallel, as hence as 3 ≠ 3.

You youngins better get good at this sort of stuff. If you go to a 4 yr college, a potential qt may ask you for "help with their homework" and if you're GL enough, you'll be able to ascend easily .

Moreover, most high paying careers require a certain level of proficiency with math, ranging from conversions all the way to multivariable calculus/differential equations and beyond

he wants the area of the prism. the only info he gives is that the area of the sphere is 48pi. I am getting 288√3 as the answer but it is saying that it is 216√3 the correct answer.
