Hello everyone,
I’m currently 17 years old, I recently got a hand X-ray done and my confirmed bone age came back at barely 15. Because my epiphyseal plates have not yet undergone complete fusion, but my natural rate is slowing down, and i never naturally produced a lot of GH.
Growing up, I have always been significantly below the average height percentile, which has constantly made me feel excluded and socially isolated. Right now, I feel an immense amount of pressure because I know that if I don't take immediate action, this window will close permanently and I will never have another opportunity to fix this for the rest of my life.
I have an appointment with my endocrinologist soon, and I wanted to get prescribed HGH or to start any cycle ( sorry for the vague knowledge) to maximize my remaining growth potential before my plates fuse.
For those who have successfully been prescribed growth hormones or know how the system works: What is the best way to frame this to an endocrinologist so they take me seriously and actually write the prescription? What specific tests, symptoms, or arguments should I bring up during the appointment to convince them?
Should I focus on requesting a comprehensive growth hormone stimulation test , insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) labs, or specific auxological charting to justify idiopathic growth hormone deficiency (GHD) or constitutional delay?
Any insights on the specific clinical criteria or presentation needed to secure a prescription would be highly appreciated.
