Sup guys. I could use some advice on a situation I’m dealing with right now.
I just got back from watching the new Stranger Things finale with my ex-girlfriend, my sister, and her boyfriend. I had a good time overall (even though I thought the finale itself was kind of mid), but my ex, who I’m still close friends with, really didn’t like it.
If you’re a Stranger Things fan, you probably know about the Byler ship. She’s a firm believer in it, and I’m not. I’ve mostly just watched the show as it is, and from my memory I don’t really recall the series ever strongly hinting at a romance between Will and Mike. I know there have been interviews where actors or directors teased some gay relationships this season, but honestly, I don’t really care, honestly. I just watch the show.
The issue is that now she’s upset with me because she feels like I don’t care about what she’s into. She told me that whenever she tries to talk to me about it, I make it feel childish, or like it’s a dumb thing to bring up. I’ll admit I’m probably not perfect with my wording, but I’m not rude or crude, I just stand firm on my own interpretation. I’m not trying to shut her down or invalidate her view of the finale, but I also have my own opinion.
She’s also mad at me because she says I rushed her. From my side, that was only because we were carrying popcorn and drinks and I wanted us to sit down in the theater early to save seats while my sister’s boyfriend arrived, instead of standing around. That plan didn’t even work out because they simply disregarded it and I got sidetracked and followed my sister around like an idiot, so now that’s another thing she’s annoyed about.
Because of all this, she’s questioning our friendship and honestly, now I am too. I’m trying to figure out whether she’s being overly sensitive, or if I’m actually in the wrong here and just not seeing it.
I don’t know, guys. Let me know what you think and how I should handle this. Any serious advice is appreciated. Even jokes, honestly, I’ll take those too. Thanks. Happy New Years to all!!!!

. Such a sad place to throw a stone in but hey, better than not trying…
! In all seriousness though, I’m friends with her because she’s honestly cool enough to just be friends with but I’m just as tired of giving a fuck about how she feels at this point. I’m honestly just trying to see if I can get at one of her friends at this point but it seems like a no-go from here.
