Yeah — if you’re going for a Playboi Carti–inspired dread look, your hair already has some of the right ingredients: dark, semi-freeform, messy volume, and relatively thin locs.

To push it more in that direction​

• Let the locs get longer rather than keeping them uniformly short.
• Keep the roots less perfectly maintained. Carti’s looks often have a deliberately irregular/freeform character.
• Vary the thickness and separation. A few thinner, loose pieces around the forehead/temples can give that chaotic silhouette.
• Shape the front intentionally: let 2–4 locs fall forward around the forehead rather than having everything swept back.
• Avoid over-twisting. Too-clean, freshly retwisted locs will give a much more conventional appearance.
• If you want the more dramatic Die Lit / early-WLR-type silhouette, length + irregularity + volume are probably the biggest changes.
