Does anyone know if Raffaini usually performs higher cut LeFort 1s in class 3 patients (recessed maxilla)?
The only information I can find suggests he usually performs subspinal LF1.
I know this is to prevent unwanted nasal changes but it is still seems suboptimal for class 3s.
Any info from people who have had surgery with him/knowledgeable on this topic would be appreciated.

i think someone here got a hlf1. do you have a paranasal deficiency? also, is your mandibular recessed?

I am class III. My mandible is actually normal but my entire maxilla is recessed.

I wanted to know if anyone had surgery with Raffaini and what kind of cuts he can do. If the cut is too low then it will make the rest of the maxilla look even more recessed.

He was trained by some of the best surgeons in Europe but is known for being quite arrogant.

My question is too specific for this forum really.

Thanks for responding though. If you know anyone who’s gone with him, please let me know.

Your best bet is to talk to local surgeons and see their opinions, you may get lucky and find a competent maxillofacial surgeon.

I’ve done this. I live in a country with a socialized healthcare system where even private surgeons prioritize a functional result over an aesthetic one.

Thanks. I’m not really after a high LeFort. Probably, just a variant that goes a few mm above the classic cut.

I just don’t want a subspinal cut which doesn’t even fully address recession of the lower maxilla.

Well, bad luck i guess.

It’s not a big deal. I’m mobile and will travel to get the best treatment.
But will the insurance cover it?, that's the thing i meant.

No, I'll have to pay out of pocket unfortunately.
Would have been better if they did cover it, what can i say, wish you good luck on your journey.
