You’re basically telling an able-bodied healthy person that something is inherently wrong with them. It’s a learned disability that gives you an excuse to act like you’re completely disabled. Complete bs

Not sure about ADHD,cause there's medication and getting diagnosed would mean you now can fix the issue. But 100% with autism. They scream their heads off explaining how it is a "variation of norm" yet it's still a dianosis. Going back to when "autistic" traits were just described as normal personality traits:rolleyes:

When? Do you even know what you're talking about? No one in this thread has ever laid eyes on the DSM-5 or ICD diagnosis criteria before, just lol
Any one diagnosed with autism reading this: your autism affects you, you didn't have friends growing up for a reason, you act out for a reason
Or keep coping that multiple institutions from multiple countries for decades independently decided theres a group of people that act a certain way that need support
I'm sure multiple 1st world governments are shelling out £200-400 per month to their autistic population individually for a lie, just lol at this cope

where did i say this all isn't true? it's just incurable and being aware of that will likely decrease the qualiy of your life. I absolutely am speaking from experience with these people as i've worked with them - there are loads of diagnosed autists who regret the diagnosis cause 1)they started letting their symptoms show off more 2) it's generally a rope fuel knowing how limiting this is. Considering how fast the knowledge about tism spreads more and more of the top highest highfunctioning autists will know about this part of them. Do you think it'll improve their quality of life outside of the government pension?

Exactly

Ofc you won’t be perfect in life especially socially, but giving in to your diagnosis straight up kills you

I understand what you mean, but there are minimal manifestations of these diseases that don’t even require treatment, and then there are such fucked up ones that a person simply won’t survive without someone else’s help

In the first case, yes, people exaggerate the importance of their diagnosis and simply try to justify their stupidity with a disease that they do not have
In the second case, it just much more complicated. people simply try to keep it quiet. no normal person would justify their actions with a diagnosis or tell everyone everywhere, that they r "special"

So illnesses are absolutely real, but the fashion for having a diagnosis drives people crazy, them bithes need to calm the fuck down

Im more surprised by people who make ADHD problems seem so big that it's fatal, people are prescribed medications that fuck up their brains and make them dependent for the rest of their lives. It's sad

Nah I disgaree completely
Glad I got diagnosed
Makes me compensate super well for my autism, if I didn't know I'd have it I'd think I'm just like this and i'm doomed to be a social reject
The fact I know exactly what I have is good for the reason that I can research how it effects me exactly and mitigate it [masking doesn't work but nullifying it a bit does]

I think the exact scenario you're describing is just "what if someone who's PARENTS DONT CARE ABOUT HIM gets diagnosed with autism"
If your parents care about you, they will research it more than you will, and they will genuinely help you
Not this "AUTISM ISN'T A DISABILITY IT'S A DIFFERENT ABILITY" shit, that, let's be real, is marketed to parents of autists and not autists themselves

Anyways, I'd rather be ugly [though im not] and know im ugly and how it affects me than not be ugly, try and ask out girls out of my league, not knowing why i'm treated how im treated, thinking it's just how I am and committing suicide.
If I know I'm ugly and that's the reason why my life is the way it is, I can get surgery, make myself look better, try and mitigate my ugliness [very hard ofc irl]

Noooo knowing your autistic is death tierr saaar. translation: my parents dont care abt me
and it's over either way if that's the case

The stress from not knowing what I have, if I wasn't diagnosed at such a young age, would probably of ruined my life, unironically

I also believe you're not autistic until you're diagnosed, self diagnosises are BS with autism since you can fulfill all autism criteria but 1 and still not get the diagnosis, but act like an autist would, and other autists could assume you're autistic because of how you naturally act.
it's a very specific criteria that not everyone fulfills
Which is why I don't think clavicular is autistic

I got diagnosed from a young age tbh

So you’re saying it allowed you to shift your strategies and goals in life to something more achievable

I mostly enteracted with autists who found out at the age of 18+ so their parents would have little to do with the quality of their life and who've spent their life adapting just slightly below average. I was wrong for generalizing based on this pretty niche group, in the first message I was mostly talking about the info spreading online (which I didn't write). The people who visit doctors because of it in my opinion would have a better life without knowing

I can make friends naturally now, without trying
I think the affects of high functioning ASD goes with age
If you put me back at age 4, i would be the same kid not being able to get any friends no matter how hard I tried
young kids are extremely good at recognizing if someone's autistic [though in their mind, that person is just weird or creepy or off], grown normies are also extremely good at this according to studies, but their responses isn't as strong as kids, which is why I have friends who genuinely like me
I think you should read my thread honestly
There was a medium functioning autist in my class in secondary school, the difference between me and him were miles away
I was known as a goofy kid who just made jokes alot in situations that didn't really warrant it, getting my friends in trouble for making them laugh
That was probably the worst thing about me
He was known as the retard kid who had a weird voice and way of talking, and who literally jerked off in class, not knowing it was weird or what he was even doing, just that it felt good, his entire existence was social suicide
now adays, post secondary school, the most i have to do in my day to day is honestly just stopping myself from doing autistic stuff physically, like stimming or the retarded dinosaur hand movement autists do

I got diagnosed at 9 and most autistic people [high functioning] in my country [scotland] probably got diagnosed from 7-14

I read the thread about autism and IQ and ASPD , very good thread I have a question though , how bad is ADHD compared to autism , is it similar in terms of how much it deducts from your over all attractiveness/smv score?

This is concerning, now I’m worried I might have high function autism JFL, the stuff about making jokes and shit sounds very similar to what i experienced growing up

most adhd is caused by behaviour or diet
if you never push a child to actually work for something he will only get the rewards to in the future, and let him off with being lazy, he will probably develop ADHD
his brain will just wire to go for that type of behaviour
hard work pays off over time
laziness pays off now
though autism is 1000% worse
There is no "autism pill" that helps you be normal
There are many nootropics and medications that completely nullifies ADHD

@Dip3shx i mean ofc the affects of adhd differ
there are people who do their homework, but when it comes time to hand it in, they can't be bothered, even if the homework is worth 30% of their grade, that's death tier adhd that ruins your life
but for most, it's minimal, maybe they can't study that well and need ritalin, who cares

i have aspergers [high high functioning autism]
i'm guessing you just have normal high functioning autism and don't meet the criteria for aspergers
you should probably get support, unironically

It’s very nuanced and speaking for my case there and days, weeks, months where i feel as if im closer to the less serious end of adhd but also the complete opposite is also true. Truthfully speaking id say I fall right in the middle as in I can function as an adult but literally and I mean LITERALLY everything even simple tasks feel 10x harder to do compared to someone without adhd. There’s more to adhd than just muh procrastination and muh I’m lazy… lol but yeah my main goal is to talk to a psychiatrist asap
