Today I went for my monthly braces check up ( im 17 started at 15 ) and the orthodontist applied 2 rubber bands one on my right upper canine connecting to my lower canine and my first premolar making a triangle and on the left it was my upper left canine and my lower canine I have a small maybe medium amount of overbite that makes my lips look massive and hides my chin but when I hit (push lower jaw forward) it aligns with my lips I can feel the bone and my chin is projected about 2-3 cm but my lips hide it now I’m going to keep the elastics for 2 weeks do they push my lower jaw slightly forward or will it pull my maxilla down and backwards cause my maxilla is overall decent forward and visible cheekbones and a positive orbital vector my nose genetically I’m pretty sure has a hook or maybe slight maxilla recession idk
My second question Is I have a gummy smile and is there any orthodontic process that could lift my maxilla like head gear or ext cause my gums are very visible and my teeth don’t align with my lips
Thanks for reading whoever read this
