Bc you’re just so fucking stupid.

Your Point is, that nobody does smth out of free Will because the Brain creates the Thoughts. BUT YOU ARE YOUR BRAIN WHAT THE FUCK IS EVEN YOUR POINT

Not my point dawg, im saying that it should be applied to all humans as we in reality have no control over any actions we do and that if you are mentally ill your brain will often lead you to worse decisions on average but it is still true to people who are neurotypical
So whats your point? We should allow anything because no one has control over it? even if free will doesn’t exist consequences still do so this whole argument is stupid, as I said earlier the only reason concepts like free will and morality were even constructed is to refrain people from harmful behaviours and make them feel more guilty for them, it serves a functional purpose.

Nah ur missing the point, free will in the definitive sense doesnt actually exist since there are way more influences that affect a person’s decision making like environment and genetic temperament. Hes actually right but I disagree that free will not existing should be a way to not hold people accountable or to minimise harm

I don’t think humans have true free will at all, because you are not separate from your brain. Every thought you have, every emotion you feel, every decision you make, is generated by the brain before you even become aware of it. People act like there’s a “you” controlling the brain from somewhere behind the scenes, but there isn’t. The brain is the thing making every choice, and you are only experiencing the result of those processes happening.

You have never once chosen a thought before your brain created it. You don’t decide what suddenly appears in your mind, what emotions you feel, what urges you get, or what reasoning convinces you of something. All of that is produced automatically by the brain itself. Even when you think you are carefully making a decision, the brain is still the thing weighing the options and arriving at the conclusion. You are not commanding it you are witnessing it.

If someone hurts another person, restrains themselves, helps someone, or destroys their own life, the action still came from the brain deciding that was the correct thing to do in that moment. Even guilt, morality, hesitation, and self-control are just functions of the brain. The person never stepped outside of it to independently author the choice.

And the strongest part of this idea is that you cannot escape it, even if you try. If someone says, “I’ll prove I have free will by doing something completely random right now,” that still doesn’t disprove anything. The decision to act randomly came from the brain too. The urge to rebel against the idea, the thought of proving it wrong, and the action itself were all generated by the same organ. You cannot use the brain to escape the brain, because every attempt to do so is still another process created by it.

yes this text is from chatgpt bitch ass nigga but its only to fix my spelling and grammar so dont try to act all smart saying i did not think of this myself.

Yea that’s true, but his Point was, that you don’t have Free Will because it’s your Brain that creates the Thoughts and that Argument is just wrong at every Perspective.

Your thoughts are influenced by ur temperament and environment, if you was raised slightly differently or had a different event growing up you wouldn’t have the same thoughts at all. Free will doesn't actually exist since your environment and brain plasticity affects your decisions making.
Say a kid who were raised around criminals and a kid raised in a normal family, they can’t both be held to the same level of accountability because their environments influence their decision making so free will doesn’t actually exist in the “fair” sense.
Free will and moral accountability were just placeholders for when humans couldn’t explain social science, but morality and accountability still serve functional purpose today even if it isn’t factually correct

Well ofc, that’s well known

I’m not saying that Free Will exists like that, I’m just saying that his argument doesn’t make sense

What part of his argument doesn’t make sense
1. that you shouldn’t be hold accountable for smth you did (self explanatory)

2. That you don’t have „real“ Thoughts because your brain creates them.
He’s separating the Brain from the Human Being as if it were two different Things, but they aren’t, the Human being is his Brain, they’re the same.
